12.04 LTS ベースということで、インストールさせてもらいました。ありがとうございます。

ところで、モニタの設定で解像度はあっているのですが、画面がたそがれたように少し暗いのです。輝度もコントラストも低いようなのですが、なんとかならないでしょうか。

Synapticパッケージインストーラーから、「xbacklight」「xbrightness-rgbgamma」をインストールしてみてください。

ありがとうございました。xbacklightが効いたようです。

※ パソコンは、ノートパソコン--HP Probook 4510sなのですが、いつも、接続したフルキーボードを使っているので、fn + f8 に気づきませんでした。
